Anthroposphere and Sustainability
The current impact of human activity has led to an unsustainable state of the anthroposphere. Addressing this challenge through sustainability science necessitates a multidisciplinary approach. The primary objective of this program is to impart students with a holistic perspective on the anthroposphere and the pursuit of sustainability, spanning various themes and disciplines.
This program places particular emphasis on essential knowledge areas within anthroposphere and sustainability theory and practice. These encompass the adaptation of ecosystems to global changes, the preservation of critical environmental resources, the enhancement of environmental resilience in urban areas and communities, the preservation of human health and well-being amidst dynamic environmental shifts, and the promotion of societal transformation and governance for sustainability.
By engaging with this program, students will gain a profound understanding of the fundamental challenges and potential pathways to sustainability. This involves the pursuit of economic development that is both socially inclusive and environmentally sustainable.
